DIY Roasted Chestnuts
How to Roast Your Own Chestnuts
You will need:
- Chestnuts (still in their shells)
- A sharp knife
- A baking tray
- An oven
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 200 degrees celsius
- Using a sharp knife, cut a cross into the surface of each chestnut
- Place all the chestnuts onto a baking tray
- Put in the oven for about 30 minutes, or until the shells open and the insides are soft
- Carefully take them out of the oven when done, and leave them to cool enough for you to be able to touch them (they are best served warm so don’t leave them for too long)
- Serve in bowls or paper bags
- To eat, carefully peel away the outer shell and the crispy fluffy part and enjoy the delicious, sweet nut inside
